GTA West Shopping - Interior Works; Eden's Tile-it; Celadon & Willis

Summer is here and we still strive to find out all about wonderful products for our clients.  The most recent GTA West Chapter of CDECA events have been our 'summer sourcing days'.  We did visit some new showrooms and a couple of which are already affiliates of CDECA.  There is always new information to be had and a lot to learn in order to keep current in the decor industry and we love discovering new and up to date design/decor items and information.

Our first stop was Interior Works www.interiorworks.ca on Harvester Road in Burlington.

Here we are with Brenda Routery checking out all of the new quartz samples.  Both Brenda and Krista Salter offered many great options for designing the perfect kitchen or washroom.

We love to pose!

We then headed off to Edens Tile-It - www.tileit.ca on fairview in Burlington
They carry every type of flooring you could ever want - great showroom!

So much to see - we didn't want to leave - going back!!
These spectacular tiles were designed by the owner

Our next stop was Celadon   for art www.celadonart.com  on the North Service Road in Burlington

Helene Zimmer with just some of the wonderful Art available at Celadon
Absolutely gorgeous frames

An interesting way to do a wall

Our final stop for a lunch and learn was our affiliate at Willis www.4willis.com who specialize in Corian and quartz.

Here are just a few samples of the many wonderful designs available.

My photos didn't catch just how beautiful this wall of samples were - you just have to go there and see them - it is well worth going!

LOVE TO EAT.......

If you are in the mood for some great chinese food and fabulous atmosphere then Cynthia's Fine Dining  www.cynthiaschinese.com is a good choice.  Of course, being a decorator, the decor of any establishment counts in my books. Obviously the food has to be excellent, and the service as well,  but I firmly believe you really do need an ambient setting, and if the decor offers more than a glance then I am hooked.  Our recent CDECA GTA West Chapter had a wrap up dinner at Cynthias's Fine Dining as we move into a little break for summer. We enjoyed a wonderful meal,  in a very elegant atmosphere, presented in a very sophisticated manner and listened to soft live music from the keyboard.

Everyone loved it and will be coming back.  Cynthias is located on Neyagawa Blvd in Oakville just at Dundas. There are two other locations - one in Newmarket and one in Vaughan.

Another Great GTA West Window at SOFA

As I have written before about the GTA West Chapter of CDECA having decorated a display window at SOFA (source of furniture and accessories) for the trade, well there is a new window. This time is represents all of CDECA and profiles the winners of our recent Interior Decorating Awards Contest.  They are a little difficult to make out in the photos but it is worth it next time you are up at the International Centre to take a close up look at our winners.

Muskoka Living Interiors

Being up at Lake Rosseau, and being a decorator I really couldn't pass up the opportunity to drop into a wonderful Home Decor Shop known as Muskoka Living Interiors.  What a grand store - it goes on and on forever with wonderful room displays set up.  I really could have spent half a day in their, however I had to be on my way home before the cottage traffic.  I will be back....
Here are some of the beautifully designed room vignettes which would look great in any Muskoka Home or any home anywhere - enjoy!

The Marriott Resort & Spa

Lucky me - I was treated to a weekend away with my girlfriend at The Marriott Resort & Spa on Lake Rousseau www.jrosseau.ca and enjoyed our time in Spa Rousseau.www.sparosseau.com . Wow... it is so relaxing and beautiful everyone should do this at least once. The location in one of the most desirable resort areas of Halliburton takes your breath away. This resort has taken customer service excellence to another level. Everyone is on the same page and you are treated as though you are really welcome and they want to do whatever it is to make your stay wonderful. There are so many activities you should check out the website at www.jwrosseau.ca.

A welcoming entrance

This waterfall is at the main entrance and there is a fire pit where guests can have drinks while enjoying the fire and roast marshmallows

 The lake beyond

The Spa was the main draw for our weekend getaway and it is absolutely fabulous.  I have never been  pampered so much.  We spent Saturday lounging, reading and relaxing in the whirlpool to be followed by the best massage and then off to the notable Robin Barker Salon www.robinbarker.ca for a new hairdo.  Robin's salon is know in Toronto's Yorkville area and will soon be opening up in Oakville at Dundas & Third Line.
Dinner in the both The signature Teca Restaurant was another delight as was the grand breakfast buffet the next morning in The Cottages Restaurant.

Below are some photos of the public spaces within the resort - lots of room to relax.....
